Sometimes, our stories are not something we choose to write, but rather something that writes us. The stories we end up with choose us instead of the other way around. But, what if someone were to tell you that the story you're living is not yours? Would you be brave enough to take the reins and rewrite it?
Savi Sharma's book "This is Not Your Story" introduces us to Shaurya, an aspiring CA student, Miraya, an interior designer, and Anubhav, an entrepreneur who has been given another shot at life. Although each character faces unique challenges, their stories are linked by common themes of bravery, hope, and self-discovery.
The book opens with a prologue that asks readers to forget about who they are and leave everything behind, becoming nothing more than a storyteller. "I never wanted anything from life," the author writes. "If I say those words, I would be lying. It would be the biggest lie of my life." The author then proceeds to express all the things she desires in life, from living multiple lives in one lifetime to learning and teaching to being rich and famous, to experiencing everything beautiful and painful that life has to offer.
The author wonders if it's possible for one person to achieve all of these things in a lifetime, but ultimately concludes that she doesn't know, nor does she need to know. This prologue sets the tone for the rest of the book, which encourages readers to be true to themselves, take risks, and rewrite their stories if necessary.
In "This is Not Your Story," Savi Sharma artfully intertwines three captivating narratives that will motivate readers to take charge of their own stories and live with hope and bravery.
