Muneyuki Kaneshiro is a Japanese manga writer known for his work in the sports manga genre. He debuted in 2011 with the story for "As the Gods Will," which was adapted into a live-action film. Kaneshiro is best known for his series "Blue Lock," which he launched with Yusuke Nomura in 2018 and won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

Kaneshiro is also working on another manga series called "Super Ball Girls," which is illustrated by Akira Hiramoto.
He has a unique approach to writing, often focusing on characters with strong egos and individual ambitions, which sets his work apart from traditional team-focused sports stories.

In addition to his manga work, Kaneshiro has contributed to building hype for Japan's national soccer team by featuring the 2022 World Cup uniforms in his manga "Blue Lock," which is based on real-life soccer.

Kaneshiro is from Osaka, Japan, and during his junior high years, he was part of a band named 'Darts' that performed on variety television shows.
