"All the Light We Cannot See" is a poignant novel written by Anthony Doerr, that tells the story of two young people whose lives are forever changed by World War II. The novel is set primarily in France and follows the stories of Marie-Laure LeBlanc, a blind French girl, and Werner Pfennig, a German orphan boy.

As the war rages on, Marie-Laure's father, a locksmith at the Museum of Natural History in Paris, constructs a miniature replica of the city so that his daughter can navigate the streets independently. Meanwhile, Werner is recruited into the German army and becomes a skilled radio operator, but he soon realizes the horrors of war and the cruelty of his own government.

The novel skillfully weaves together the lives of Marie-Laure and Werner, as their paths eventually intersect in the besieged city of Saint-Malo. The author's vivid descriptions of the characters and their surroundings create a powerful sense of atmosphere and emotion, and the reader is drawn into their experiences of loss, love, and redemption.

"All the Light We Cannot See" is a beautifully written and moving story that explores themes of morality, the human condition, and the power of hope. It has won numerous awards and accolades, including the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2015, and is widely considered to be a modern classic.
